Joker: Folie à Deux To Feature Looney Tunes-Style Cartoon From Sylvain Chomet

The year 2024 will go down as a year where we’ve had a shit-load of animated depictions of the Joker. Between Suicide Squad Isekai, Batman: Caped Crusader, the upcoming return of Harley Quinn, and a bunch of movies that have sprung this year, fans of the Joker have had more than they could ever wish for…but DC Studios isn’t done yet!

That’s because it has been announced that Joker: Folie à Deux will feature a Looney Tunes-inspired animated short featuring the Batman rogue villain to kick off the film produced by Sylvain Chomet (The Triplets of Belleville). The $200 million sequel to the Joaquin Phoenix-starring Joker which grossed over $1 billion co-stars Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn.

No word yet if there will be an animated Harley Quinn in the Chomet-produced cartoon, but I hope so because we need more of those as well.

Synopsis:

Two years after killing Murray Franklin on live television, Arthur Fleck, now a patient at Arkham State Hospital, falls in love with music therapist Lee. As the duo experiences musical madness through their shared delusions, Arthur’s followers start a movement to liberate him.
