English Dub Review: Tower of God “The Trustworthy Room”

Overview:

Viole refused to choose companions for the journey ahead. Therefore, another test is being conducted to resolve this issue.

Our Take:

I typically like it when an anime involves games but not when there’s a poor kid involved. I’m not certain that people have to die but it does seem like a few might not make it. It doesn’t seem to matter to Viole because he’s going to be too busy taking on the guy running the test and he’s not exactly keen on playing fair if you know what I mean. I don’t understand why he has such a huge problem with Fug but it’s such an issue that he’s willing to kill Viole going against the rules.

I’m more interested in the fight with Viole than the Hunger Games situation, but something tells me that will get more interesting in the next episode. At the very least the characters involved have become fairly interesting. The guy who looked like the biggest asshole seems to have a soft spot for kids, which I’m sure there is a traumatic reason for that we’ve only gotten hints of so far. But so long as we have some good mind games and a good fight next episode might be the best yet.
