English Dub Review: Tower of God “The Other Team”

Overview:

Khun continues to climb the tower, thinking of his best friend Bam. He has assembled a new team and is dragging along the sluggish Rachel. But there’s much more going on behind the scenes.

Our Take:

I forgot how much hatred there is for Rachel, but I understand why it’s there. I remember reading this part of the webtoon hoping that Khun hadn’t fallen for her lie. This boy is going to war for Bam and I love it. He will help Rachel climb the tower because that is what Bam would want but only until he finds out why she did what she did. Once he does it’s over for her because Bam was Khun’s best friend and he isn’t going to let her get away with it. Honestly though, as much as we hate Rachel I would argue that the mystery behind why she did what she did is a big driving force for the webtoon. My only problem is that you would think she would be a smart antagonist since she hid her betrayal from Bam till the last moment but man is she dumb here. She freaks out when Khun gives her a surprise visit and walks around her room like nothing is wrong not realizing that Khun is recording her from outside the window.

I stopped reading the webtoon before I saw whether Bam reunites with Khun or Rachel gets what she deserves but this reminded me of how good that webtoon is. Hopefully, this anime gets to go long enough to let us see some of those moments, but everyone planning to betray Rachel is fun to watch right now.
