English Dub Review: The Unwanted Undead Adventurer “Bronze-class Exam”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
After proving himself worthy, Rentt is given the opportunity to take the Bronze-class exam.  Together, he and two young adventurers must overcome the challenges that lie ahead in the Labyrinth of the New Moon.

Our Take:
Despite his new body, Rentt’s luck continues to get better gradually, as he can now graduate to Bronze class.  Following his successful written exam, Rentt finds himself in the practical portion of the exam, where he’s competing with other parties to reach a particular room in the New Moon Labyrinth.  Fortunately, he’s not exploring the labyrinth alone, thanks to his new yet familiar pair of adventurers, swordsman Ryze Dunner and sorceress Laura Satii.  We briefly saw these young adventurers in the previous episode when Rentt was exploring the unexplored part of the labyrinth, and I’m not going to lie; they seemed to be holding their ground pretty well for a pair of rookies.
“Bronze-class Exam” fully provided what Ryze and Laura can do with their teamwork when paired with Rentt.  Like Rentt, Ryze can use his sword effectively, and Laura is skillful in her defensive magic.  These skills, along with Rentt’s previous experience with the exam, help the trio guide through the labyrinth’s challenging obstacles, which the examiners formed to make the exam more difficult.  This episode showcased that being an adventurer isn’t as easy as it seemed.  Becoming a true adventurer takes intelligence, teamwork, and bravery, with the latter resembling Ryze’s determination to fight a seemingly impossible battle.  It’s enough for the episode to improve the show’s narrative, along with Ryze and Laura’s more significant roles and Rentt inspiring new adventurers.  Hopefully, their teamwork will be strong enough to conquer the boss room.
