English Dub Review: SHY “Cloud in the Dark”

Overview:

When an impenetrable black orb completely engulfs the heart of Tokyo, heroes from all over the world are summoned to discuss how to handle it. Shy finds herself thrust into a leadership role and is tasked with organizing a team to infiltrate the orb.

Our Take:

As much as I love the slice-of-life stuff so far this season, I watch a superhero show for some action. Don’t get me wrong I think the build-up has been necessary but I’m excited that it seems like we’re going to get into some action. It’s going to be a good character-building moment for Shy because she has been given the leadership role in this operation to save Tokyo. One of her first choices could affect the whole operation, will she allow Ai to come along?

Ai has a cool suit she wears and I’m looking forward to seeing how this arc plays out because Ai has been one of the best new additions to this series so far. I like the quirks and tropes she brings to the table but she’s also just a likeable character. Her ninja companion who follows her with unwavering loyalty could be fun to watch as well but only time will tell as we get into this big battle.
