English Dub Review: My Instant Death Ability is Overpowered “The World Isn’t So Kind as to Allow One-Sided Attacks”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
Yogiri and company are reunited with classmate Yuki.  Later, while staying at a hotel, Tomochika seems to have too much time on her hands!

Our Take:
We’re only three episodes into this show, and we’ve already reunited with one of Yogiri’s classmates.  However, that doesn’t mean that they’ll automatically be allies.  Following their encounter with Tomochika’s guardian angel, Yogiri and Tomochika arrive in a seemingly ordinary city, where they cross paths with Yuki Tachibana.  Yuki is a dominator who forms a group of harem bodyguards and wants Tomochika to be his latest servant.  It’s also revealed that another student, Haruto Otori, advised Yuki to gather a group of female servants to bring out the sage.
Unsurprisingly, Tomochika refuses, but Yuki won’t take no for an answer.  This resulted in another easy fight for survival, with Yogiri murdering two of Yuki’s bodyguards, Erika and Captain Riza, and even Yuki himself with his instant death ability.  Beforehand, we briefly see more of Yogiri’s childhood in a dream sequence, although all I could gather is that he was raised in a lovely house in the countryside.  While the stakes still haven’t reached the heights the show is going for, I would credit the episode for exploring more of Yogiri’s mysterious origins with that scene.  My best bet is that we’ll know how he got this powerful ability in later episodes.
The episode also showcased that Yogiri’s instant death ability works on people far away from him, including Yuki.  He just needs to think of that person, and they immediately bite the dust, no matter where they are.  While it’s helpful for Yogiri and Tomochika, it’s unclear whether it’ll work on what they’ll encounter next: a darkness-like creature that’s seemingly unstoppable and a horde of zombies.  As usual, the episode isn’t without its merits regarding Yogiri’s power, but they still prove to be the show’s weakness when it comes to the entertainment and intrigue coming from them.
