OUR TAKE

You know, I mentioned last week that I was enjoying this break we were getting from Helck and Vermilio so we could focus on the actual plot between the awakened humans and the demons led by Azudra. And I gotta say I am still enjoying it quite a bit, but then I remembered we are two episodes from the end of the series. Probably not the end of the manga, since there’s probably enough of that to fill out a whole other season, but I still highly doubt we’re getting that considering this season has been, overall, pretty mediocre. Not to mention that this very much plays into my issues with the pacing considering that we’re finally getting Helck directly involved in the fight that he was at the center of AND the Human Kingdom are specifically targeting him, but we’re only going to see him fighting in it for one, maybe two episodes. This show just…really sucks donkey dong, man. I’m not happy to say that, I’m sure everyone involved worked really hard on it, but I am just not feeling it, and the two remaining episodes feel like I’ll be waiting an eternity for it to end, even if it is just two more weeks.

Okay, what else is there to talk about…well, it’s interesting that Edil, a character whom I have had no reason to name until this episode, seemed to be roused from his mind control by Hyura, another character who I didn’t even have to name THIS week. There’s a lot of characters in this show that are simply not important enough to mention! And I will continue to not mention them for the remainder of the series. But I guess they did give this small rivalry a bit of recurring time over several episodes so it’s worth a little mention. Edil first showed up in the fourth episode when the Awakened humans first started becoming known, and was one of the humans who fought with Helck and Cless, but had been shown to be fighting Hyura off and on as she killed him over and over. Apparently that was enough to stir his human side, but it was unfortunately short lived as he is now some final boss monster or something. Oh yeah, and it’s now basically confirmed that the Awakened human with the helmet is Alicia and we’ll probably get the proper reveal next episode. Two left!
