English Dub Review: A Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring “The Ocean! It’s Salty!”

Overview:

Takumi is confronted by a slave trader who sees Allen and Elena as his merchandise. A guard quickly arrives to resolve the situation. How can Takumi resolve this and set off to the sea with the twins?

Our Take:

Something tells me that this won’t be the last we see of the slave trader. The way Takumi got rid of him was almost too easy, but it’s nice to see that all the good will he’s acquired helped him get rid of a truly awful human being. There are still a few questions I have because it’s a bit odd that a slave owner wouldn’t put a slave crest on his “merchandise” without a good reason. Maybe I’m just looking too hard into it.

What’s super cool and not at all surprising is there are mermaids in this world. What’s not surprising is the fact that they need Takumi’s help with some debris at the bottom of the ocean. One thing I like about show’s like this is the fact that since a character is overpowered little problems like a pirate ship wrecked at the bottom of the ocean is child’s play to remove. Though I have to admit just adding it to his inventory was a bit anticlimactic. But I have a feeling there is going to be a bigger problem to solve in the next episode.
