No, “The Simpsons” Did Not Predict Francis Scott Key Bridge Accident, But Another Prediction May Be On Coming To Pass**UPDATED 7/11**

On March 26th a container ship from Singapore was making it’s way through Baltimore when the boat clipped the under carriage of the Francis Scott Key Bridge thereby destroying it in the process and leaving two repair workers dead in the process. Since then, the fan theorists of the world had begun to unite and make assumptions that The Simpsons may have predicted this incident, unfortunately, most of the clips and footage being shown on the internet is photoshopped or manipulated with AI. Some have even recalled a recent episode where a scene featured the Forth Bridge in Scotland which had collided with a boat, but even that isn’t even close and producer Matt Selman even explains as much in a recent Tweet.

That said, it doesn’t mean ALL predictions from The Simpsons are trash, in fact, quite the opposite. A new one was just announced inspired by the “Homerpalooza” episode of The Simpsons that featured Cypress Hill teaming with the London Symphony Orchestra for a performance which is actually going to happen in real life at the Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday, July 10th.

As for new episodes of The Simpsons, we’ll have to wait until April 7th on FOX for that one. The most recent episode of The Simpsons entitled “Clan of the Cave Mom” did a parody of Adult Swim’s Primal that was excellent and even achieved a rare perfect score from us that you can read more about here.

The longest-running primetime scripted show in television history, THE SIMPSONS exploded into popular culture in 1989 and has remained one of the most groundbreaking and innovative entertainment franchises, recognizable throughout the world. HOMER (Dan Castellaneta), MARGE (Julie Kavner), BART (Nancy Cartwright), LISA (Yeardley Smith) and MAGGIE are instantly identifiable television icons. Rounding out this cast of characters are many beloved Springfield residents, including tavern proprietor MOE SZYSLAK (Hank Azaria) and nuclear power plant owner MR. BURNS (Harry Shearer).

THE SIMPSONS is a Gracie Films Production in association with 20th Television. James L. Brooks, Matt Groening, Al Jean and Matt Selman are the executive producers. The Gracie Films Worldwide Brand Division develops and produces the licensed content for the series.
