English Dub Review: My Hero Academia “Wounded Hero, Burning Bright and True!!”

Overview:

Before the threat of All For One, Endeavor falls, and Hawks, Jiro, and Tokoyami are also cornered. Even so, Jiro acts like a hero! Endeavor is also encouraged after looking back at his own life.

Our Take:

When it comes to a character development angle I don’t think anyone can argue that Endeavor is the character that has grown the most. When we were first introduced to him I would say we all probably hated his guts. But now I think he’s close to a fan favorite, because of how much work and effort he’s put into his atonement. One thing that has helped bring that atonement to life is the performance of Patrick Seitz. As I’ve said My Hero Academia has a special place in my heart because it was one of the first shows I started watching when I restarted my anime journey. So, I hadn’t heard much from Seitz before. Meaning his performance as Endeavor was my first experience with him, now whenever I hear him I can’t help but think of Endeavor.

Studio Bones knows how to bring superhero action to life. Whether it was seeing Endeavor finally land a Prominence Burn on All for One, or Bakugo trying out a new ability on Shigaraki they brought their A-game this episode.

I read that this is one of the shows that might be affected by the Olympics going on. Since the dub is a bit behind I think we might get one more episode before we’re caught up so we might be waiting after the next episode for a bit.
