English Dub Review: My Hero Academia “Two Flashfires”

Overview:

Todoroki and Dabi finally face off! The ultimate form of sibling rivalry begins!

Our Take:

The unfortunate state of the My Hero Academia series leads me to believe that most people care more about the Todoroki family drama at this point than anything going on with All for One. At least I know that’s how I feel because nothing has been quite as entertaining as finding out all the skeletons in the closet of the Todoroki family. But even more exciting is seeing the brothers finally face off against each other.

I usually enjoy the new powerups that get introduced in this series because it’s less of an asspull and more like the character just working harder. No hate towards a golden series like Dragonball Z but let’s be honest, some of those power-ups come out of nowhere. Not to say they don’t work hard but they almost always get a new power or something whereas in My Hero Academia, they expound on their current power and use it in different ways. But Shoto’s new move is… well… lame.

Dumb new move aside, the fight between Todoroki and Dabi was a visual treat. That is what My Hero Academia is about and as long as they keep that up we’re good.
