English Dub Review: Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation “Succession”

Overview:

Rudeus arrives home, frantic that something may have gone wrong in his absence. But the conversations waiting for him may become disasters in their own right. How can he introduce a new wife to a family still reeling from Paul’s death?

Our Take:

From the start, Rudeus had an uphill battle trying to convince his family to accept Roxy as a second wife. Especially Norn because she has some of the same values her mother and her mother’s family had but failed to realize that her father also had two wives. Once that was pointed out to her she started to calm down but it was Sylphie who helped the most. Calling her husband a “horndog” wasn’t the best thing I thought she could have said but it was true and did help settle everyone down. She handled it better than Zenith did back in season one that’s for sure.

There were a lot of characters involved in quick snippets at the end of the episode and eagle-eyed viewers might have noticed a particular redhead. I don’t know if this season will get an OVA like the first season did but if it does and it doesn’t involve Eris I’m going to riot.

I’m glad that season three has already been announced so I don’t have to freak out because I want more of this series. This episode specifically was more of a decompression but I think people will love the next season. The series only gets better from here I promise you.
