English Dub Review: Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation “Let’s Go Home”

Overview:

Roxy makes a desperate move to pull Rudeus out of his depression. As the group journeys home, both of them must face their feelings and negotiate the consequences.

Our Take:

Look… grief is a hell of a thing especially when you lose a parent. I’m not going to say what Rudeus and Roxy did wasn’t wrong but I understand. That’s what I love about this anime is that despite all the magic and crazy strong people they all still feel real. Rudeus isn’t perfect but he’s trying his best and being reincarnated from another world gives him interesting insight. I don’t think I’ve seen an anime cause as much discourse online as this show and I get some of it but I think Rudeus is a flawed but ultimately good character.

Roxy was willing to accept being alone the rest of her life if she had to because she fell in love with Rudeus and knew he was married. But she did her best to get Rudy out of his depression and I’m glad she is at least going to get a chance at happiness. Rudy, Roxy, and Sylphie deserve to be happy after all the awful things that have happened.
