English Dub Review: Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture “Raspberry”

Overview:

Rozé and Ash each take a break after the fight against Neo-Britannia.

Our Take(Spoilers):

With anime being how it is I’m not surprised that Ash would start to get feelings for Sakuya once he “met” her. This hits on a lot of anime tropes, like he’s essentially in love with his “brother” who I’m not sure ever existed. But he’s also fallen in love with someone who hates him and wants to kill him. Depending on how the rest of this series plays out that could make for some intense and enjoyable drama. Especially, if she starts to fall in love with him as well, can you imagine?

This was a down episode of sorts as every one was enjoying some leisure time. Sakuya was with some people she trusted and was talked into working at a maid cafe and of course Ash was her first customer. That’s how they “met” but I love slice of life episodes as much as the next guy but I’m looking forward to more action because now Sakuya has her own Knightmare.

What excites me more than anything is finding out who potentially gave Sakuya her Geass. We never saw his face but I know Johnny Yong Bosch’s voice when I hear it which leads me to believe that Lelouch gave her, her power. You all know how much I love JYB and Lelouch is one of his best characters so let’s hope we get to see more of him.
