English Dub Review: My Hero Academia “Villain”

Overview:

After failing to steal Star’s Quirk, New Order, and losing many other Quirks, Shigaraki and All For One prepare for their next move. Who is the traitor at U.A.?!

Our Take(Spoilers):

This episode has been coming a long time and the most important points are going to be pretty huge spoilers so you’ve been warned, if you want to go in cold this is your chance. Let’s be honest if you’re into the My Hero Academia series you’ve already seen the episode, but let’s get to it.

They almost had me when they had All for One say “I have other plans in place” and showing Hagakure hiding would lead us to believe that she was the traitor this whole time. But she was spying on the real traitor, Aoyama. What I enjoyed was for the first time we get a look at what Hagakure looks like when Aoyama’s light reflects off her.

I love how we’ve come full circle, once All Might reached out a hand to Deku claiming that he could be a hero. Now feeling like nothing more than a villain, Deku reaches his hand out to Aoyama telling him that he can still be a hero. But will Aoyama take Deku’s hand or resign himself to his fate?
