English Dub Review: My Hero Academia “The Story of How We All Became Heroes”

Overview:

Due to his relationship with All For One, Yuga Aoyama calls himself a villain, but Deku tells him that he can still be a hero and reaches a hand out to him.

Our Take:

I got a feeling of deja vu watching this episode because once again Deku went to see the support team and a door blew up in his face. Not only that but Mei Hatsume was on top of him afterward, so maybe that’s a deal he takes from time to time. Get blown up but having a girl land on top of you seems like the most anime thing that could happen to you.

Jokes aside this episode showed me once again how awesome Hatsume is. She can look at an item and make something similar or better in just a few minutes. This also reminds me that while I wouldn’t call the MHA movies necessary viewing it is nice to see that they mattered. What I mean by this is that the arm brace Deku was using was from the first MHA movie.

As of now all of the students are no longer pros in training but full-fledged heroes. They are now being tasked with searching for All for One just like all the pros. I can’t say this is how I theorized the series would go but it could be interesting.
