English Dub Review: My Hero Academia “Inflation”

Overview:

Even though Shigaraki’s Quirks are sealed, he attacks Bakugo and the others with a strange new appearance and power. Meanwhile, Deku is pulled to where Toga was warped and Todoroki and Dabi face off!

Our Take:

It seems to me like all magaka’s have their own quirks (see what I did there?). Horikoshi seems to enjoy drawing hands because almost everything is hand related when it comes to Shigaraki. Not only has he always worn the hands of his dead family (eww) on him but now he’s growing a million hands just waiting for Monoma to mess up because then he’ll just decay everything around him.

One thing I never thought of before seeing them interact this episode was how similar Bakugo and Mirko are. They’re both hotheaded and talk in a vulgar manner, I was even starting to think of them as a couple but then I looked up Mirko’s age and thought that would be pretty weird at this point in time.

One person who we don’t have to wonder about who they’re in love with is Himiko Toga. To be fair we were pretty certain who she liked but she went and asked Deku to be her boyfriend in this episode. Deku reacted about how you’d expect him to, which was a welcome distraction from all the seriousness we’ve been getting lately. Unfortunately for Himiko, Deku has places to be and is taking off towards where Shigaraki is. But to get there faster he’s trying to use a One for All ability he might not be ready for yet.
