Overview (Spoilers Below): Guisarme’s teleportation-powered offensive barrage leaves Lloyd perplexed.  Having come to a realization, he attempts a physical attack with a magic-absorbing sword named Spelltaker, aiming to decipher the nature of Jade’s stolen power.

Our Take: Now that we witnessed another badass moment from Sylpha, we have returned to the real problem at hand.  This penultimate chapter of the strange reincarnation/isekai series continues the epic showdown between Lloyd and Guisarme, with the latter staying aggressive with his offensive magic.  Additionally, Jade’s teleportation ability, called Shadow Wolf, proves to be overwhelming for the young prince.  So, you can say it’s a battle of wits and magic between the two seemingly powerful beings. While the series has issues from a narrative and controversial perspective, I can still credit it for its final few episodes, offering more suitable moments than when it started.  The series displayed a sudden shift in tone from Guisarme’s appearance to Sylpha’s moment with her Spellbound Sword.  But, more importantly, it showcased Lloyd’s OP magic meeting its match in Guisarme’s stolen powers that once belonged to Jade, especially Shadow Wolf.  “Jade’s Last Words” is easily no different, with Lloyd forming a strategy to withstand and even defeat Guisarme.  That strategy in question involves him using a magic-absorbing sword called Spelltaker to analyze Shadow Wolf and relying on his Chi technique to counter the spell. “Jade’s Last Words” continues the tradition from other fantasy anime with its action-packed continuation of a season’s epic showdown.  However, it still doesn’t match the similar heights of the superior ones it’s referencing regarding its stakes.  Of course, that also includes a cliffhanger ending with the opponent gaining the upper hand, as Guisarme unleashes one last attack to kill Lloyd and everything else for good.  I’m assuming we all know how that’s going to turn out.
