Overview:

In another life, Pride’s callousness resulted in tragedy and a powerful enemy. But in this life, her compassion saved those fated to die and earned her an unexpected ally.

Our Take:

I was skeptical of this series when I started to review it. When My Next Life as a Villainess came out it was a new idea for isekai. I love isekai even if I wish the ones where people get reincarnated into a game had a bit more of an explanation, but hey it’s anime so I can suspend my disbelief. At first, this show felt like the same thing I’ve seen in the recent “villainess” boom. But the last couple of episodes have been exceptionally entertaining for me. Seeing Pride get her hands dirty and fight was enjoyable and I do like how we eventually get what happened in the game juxtaposed with what’s currently happening. Also, how cool is it that not only do they have swords and stuff but also guns?!

One thing that has led to me enjoying this show more is the performance of Karlii Hoch as Pride. I haven’t heard her in too much but I love how she voices both sides of Pride. Both the kind Pride we are dealing with in real-time and the tyrant from the game version. I’m excited for the future as well because a new character was introduced, Arthur, who Adam Gibbs voices he is one of the best voice actors out there so I want to see more from that character.
