Our Take:
I’ve noticed that when something is popular in the anime/light novel/manga sphere the market booms with similar stuff. I remember back in 2020 when My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! came out and I thought it was really good and a unique spin on the isekai genre. That leads to me reviewing this series The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen and after the first episode it feels exactly like the previous show I mentioned. With the success of My Next Life as a Villainess we’ve seen a lot of otome game isekai which I enjoy isekai as much as the next guy but so far this feels like the exact same premise.
That’s not to say I’m not ecited to see where this goes but I’m just trying to remain realistic. This show has more than enough time to change my mind and I hope it does because the last villainess show I watched was really good. The main character so far is your typical reincarnated protagonist so far but using the knowledge of the game she’s in always has the chance to lead to some interesting moments.
