“The Simpsons” Remember Comedian Richard Lewis

The last-time we had a new episode of The Simpsons was a few weeks ago where we were treated to a Mario Kart rainbow road parody that you can read more about in our review of “Lisa Gets An F1”. A new episode doesn’t even return until St. Patrick’s Day followed by the show’s finale on May 19th, but that doesn’t mean the longest-running sitcom in primetime for FOX isn’t in the news for other reasons.

Unfortunately, this reason isn’t a good one because this past Sunday The Simpsons featured an in-memoriam card of the recently deceased Richard Lewis as part of a rerun of the episode “AE Bonny Romance”. The legendary comedian passed away last week after complications from a heart attack at the age of 76. Lewis once had a cameo on The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror XVII in the role of a male golem in the short, “You Gotta Know When to Golem”, where Bart uses Krusty’s golem to wreak havoc on his tormentors.
