Our Take

This time around, Crunchyroll felt the need to release two dubbed episodes at once with many of their shows this week with the former episode, The Three separate storylines have somewhat converged, with Tomoe and Mio encountering the other two isekai heroes. Despite Tomoki and Princess Lily’s unlikable attitudes, there was a sense of satisfaction witnessing Tomoki’s futile attempts to assert control over Tomoe and failing hard. Meanwhile, Hibiki grappled with lingering trauma from Naval’s demise, finding solace in Mio’s willingness to extend help in exchange for cooking lessons. But later on, Makoto is a bit irked by this world’s view of teenage marriages and polygamy, but returns to the demiplane, but something in the atmosphere disturbs him.

While in the other episode, Makoto encounters some potential magical disturbances in the demiplane, possibly stemming from past experiments conducted by Shiki. Determined to rectify the situation and prevent overheating, Makoto sets out to address the issue. Mio’s efforts to assist Hibiki ended up having a surprising payoff. But additionally, new inhabitants in the form of Wingkin and Gorgons are introduced to the demiplane. However, the episode concludes with Makoto returning to the academy, only to be met with news about two new students…

Overall, both episodes were fun and entertaining in different ways with the first having some unexpected interactions, while showing some level of character growth. I’d call this filler, but the major characters all met even if Makoto didn’t meet them himself. Aside from Mio’s friendly interactions with Hibiki, The Gritonia Empire’s hero was the biggest douche, but his entire party was equally problematic yet Tomoe reminded the audience how much of a badass she was. As for the new cliffhanger ending, I’m curious to see where this goes as the show seems to give them a certain level of importance that might lead to something later on, but I guess we’ll find out next episode!
