English Dub Review: The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil “The Misunderstanding Foolish Angel and Demon”
Overview:
Lily and Akutsu must deal with the social fallout surrounding Akutsu being spotted leaving Lily’s apartment. They execute intricate plans to convince everyone they don’t have feelings for each other.
Our Take:
Lily and Akutsu spent so much time trying to convince others they didn’t have feelings for each other that they didn’t even stop to wonder if they might have feelings for each other. At the very least I think Akutsu has been aware he has a bit of a thing for Lily but Lily is as clueless as you can get. She doesn’t understand why she’s jealous when she sees Akutsu with another girl, or why her heart hurts when she overhears him saying they can’t be together.
Of course, their relationship would be hard to make work since one is an angel and the other is a demon. It’s the ultimate form that a Romeo and Juliet-type story can take. But now Lily is hurting and the girl she kept locked away in Akutsu’s collar is reacting to the pain and seems to have a bone to pick with Akutsu. What I know for sure is that fighting against your feelings is never going to work out.
Do we know if Hulu will be the only entity to have the dub, or if it will be on other platforms, too? The show in general is definitely going to be on multiple platforms.
