English Dub Review: The Daily Life of the Immortal King “Wang Ling’s Art of Great Luck”
Overview:
Wang Ling and his friends go shopping, and in a way that only Wang Ling can, he makes it an event to remember.
Our Take:
This show never lets me down in the chuckle department. I love the characters and this episode tried to give us a bit of a lesson. The boys are lured in by the charm of a salesman, who tells them that even though they don’t have the money now they could just sign a contract essentially giving some of their spirit points in payment until the item is paid for. This is of course a not-so-subtle take on getting caught up in credit card debt. You should be careful when it comes to credit cards but if I could give potential spirit points from my future I would do that in a heartbeat.
Wang Ling wanted to help his friend avoid debt but also get the things they wanted so he boosted his luck and took part in a store lottery. Since he did that he was able to continuously win and managed to get his friends what they wanted. But they still took the lesson to heart and decided to donate the items they won to charity.
Do we know if Hulu will be the only entity to have the dub, or if it will be on other platforms, too? The show in general is definitely going to be on multiple platforms.
