OverviewVan and the others rush into Red’s shop, accusing Esta of betrayal. Red, who encountered Van’s values during their discussion, makes a bold move to make contact with him in an attempt to overturn his rigid thinking…Our Take

In the latest episode, tension rises as the new Hero’s Party confronts Red’s group at the apothecary, accusing Esta of betrayal. However, Red and Danan come forward to corroborate Esta’s story, choosing to keep Ruti’s whereabouts confidential. Meanwhile, Red takes on a mission and invites Van to join them, intending to assess Van and Lavender’s abilities while fostering a frenemy dynamic. As they embark on their quest to help Van overcome his twisted mindset, Red shocks Van by revealing that he once possessed the “Guide” blessing, which guides those under the “Hero” blessing toward their true path.Their adventure leads them to confront bizarre tentacle monsters known as “sea bogies,” initially posing a challenge to the Hero. Red, acting as the Guide, attempts to impart wisdom to Van, despite Lavender’s disturbing approval of Van’s past actions. As they search for a child captured by the sea bogies, Van struggles to fully accept Red’s guidance, unlike Esta who may not fare well handling such situations alone.Overall, this episode makes a commendable attempt to redeem Van’s character, shedding light on his upbringing and the influence of the church on his beliefs. Despite Van’s initial resistance, Red’s guidance offers a glimpse of hope for his redemption. The episode also injects humor into Van’s reaction to Red’s revelation about the “Guide” blessing, showcasing the character’s simplistic yet dangerous mindset. With only two episodes remaining, it will be interesting to see how Van’s character arc unfolds and whether he can embrace the complexities of morality beyond what he believes his blessing wants…
