Overview:
Gaoshun requests Maomao’s help in solving an apparent poisoning case. Meanwhile, Jinshi deals with an unwelcome visitor who’s taken to lingering in his office.
Our Take:
I love that Maomao has become the unofficial poison expert and anytime someone has any sort of issue with a toxin she’s brought in to try and solve the case. It probably helps that she usually is spot on and clears it up quickly but I still find it fascinating considering the period. In doing all of this, however, she might have picked up a little more attention than she bargained for.
I could be interpreting the conversation between Jinshi and his unwelcome visitor incorrectly but it seems like this man has taken a liking to Maomao. If that is the case I imagine we are in for a very interesting couple of episodes. It has become very clear that Jinshi is interested in Maomao but he has never had anyone else take an interest in her before so I think that if I’m right this could be fun. But I could be wrong about how the conversation is going, either way, I think Jinshi has a battle of wits on his hands.
