English Dub Review: Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End “Necessary Killing”

Overview:

The first-class mage exam intensifies as fighting breaks out between the participants – and what’s at stake might even be worth killing for.

Our Take:

I’m almost mad at this show because as I’ve done this job I’ve learned that it’s a lot easier to write about something when it’s horrible. There are definitely times where I can get on a roll and gush about a show but it’s much easier to rag on something. If that doesn’t say something about the human race I don’t know what does.

What I’m getting at is that it feels like my last few reviews have just been me saying “Watch this damn masterpiece!” I hate to break it to you but that’s what I’m still saying because as you know we’re in a tournament arc and it’s doing it very well. When all is said and done this might end up being my favorite anime tournament arc.

The animation is great and getting some background on different characters has been really enjoyable. I’m sorry to keep saying this but once again I’m really looking forward to the next episode. You see it seems like someone has done something I thought impossible and it seems like Frieren might be pissed off. I can’t wait to see how she reacts.
