Rick and Morty: Season Eight Pushed To 2025

Someone over on Reddit started a whole thread about who would win in a fight, Rick Sanchez from Rick and Morty or Randall Ridley from Inside Job. It’s a compelling argument and I’m going to weigh in pretty soon, but in the meantime we got some news.

The eighth, of a potential ten, season of Rick and Morty is not expected to premiere until sometime in 2025 laying the groundwork for the Rick and Morty: The Anime to premiere sometime later THIS year. Personally, I think the idea of a non-English dubbed adaptation of one of Adult Swim’s biggest franchises is a big waste of time, maybe it will actually be a perfect antidote for all of the fans who do not like the new voices of the proper Rick and Morty series.

It doesn’t help that Rick and Morty season seven, which just started streaming on MAX the other day, was a ratings disappointment for the entirety of the run including episodes that didn’t even make it over 300k viewers in the overnight ratings. The fact that they just blanked at the Emmys should be a sign, that and the fact that fans are going nuts on every Rick and Morty post begging for the producers to bring back Justin Roiland, are signs of a once fruitful franchise showing a great number of cracks at it’s foundation.

Synopsis:

Rick and Morty is a show about a sociopathic scientist who drags his unintelligent grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe. Created and executive produced by Dan Harmon (Community, Channel 101) and Justin Roiland (House of Cosbys).
