English Dub Review: TSUKIMICHI -Moonlit Fantasy “The Heroes Are a Couple of Beauties”

Overview

We meet one of Misumi Makoto’s classmates back on earth, who also has a curious encounter with a certain goddess who presides over a certain isekai. She and one other are sent there as heroes to help the “hyumans” defeat the demons…

Our Take

This time around, we meet two new Isekai’ed characters one of them being tied to Makoto’s past named Hibiki Otonashi, a high school girl with multiple talents, who lived a dull life where everything was so damn easy for her. One day, she is summoned to another world as a hero. Despite her confusion at this sudden turn of events, Hibiki lands in the Limia Kingdom and forms a party with the elite members of the kingdom, and the group promptly takes on the challenge of battling the demon tribe.

Meanwhile, in the Gritonia Empire, another hero named Tomoki Iwahashi also descends around the same time. Who for some reason has a rather special eye ability. The princess within that kingdom is quick to recognize it in such a way, that you are left with uncertainty if she has genuine intentions or not…

Overall, this was a decent yet unusual way to introduce two new characters. You could argue that this could count as a filler episode, but upon research, this was supposed to be content that was skipped in both the Manga and season one of the show. At the very least it gives the plot more ground to cover and makes the proceedings both compelling and informative lore-wise while showing the juxtaposition of the shit Makoto went through in Season One compared to the other two who are living cozy lives in their respective kingdoms with magical gifts from the very same Goddess who wants to fuck with Makoto because she deemed him “Ugly”. Hopefully, we get to see what roles they have to play with the plot moving forward.
