Meanwhile, Sawatari’s monster lap has unsettled the drivers who are still yet to set a time.Our Take This time around, we gain insights into Kanata’s relationship with his late mother, Kathrine, shedding light on her personality and the influence she had on him. Before this, details about her were scarce, other than her being a white English woman. But as the episode’s title implies whatever abilities Kanata possesses, whether in driving or memorizing Kanji, can be attributed to his mother. Later on, Ogata lets Aiba into the booth to examine Kanata’s secrets and data. This decision raises a plethora of questions about the ethical implications, as such actions could be considered cheating or even illegal. Not to mention Kanata is still in the middle of the race and you’d think he would have a say in the matter. But with the way it ended, I was left scratching my head in confusion…Overall, despite this being a season finale, it certainly didn’t feel like one at all. I would call this more of a “Non-ending” with the way this episode ended abruptly other than a post-credits message saying Season 2 is allegedly going to happen later in 2024. At the very least, the Racing scenes in combination with the animation/direction were quite well done. However, it remains to be seen the specifics of what date we can expect Season 2 to Happen.
