English Dub Review: The Eminence in Shadow “Determination”

With Princess Rose’s hands tied as Perv has taken her mother hostage, the Eminence in Shadow must move to free the captive himself


Our Take

As Shadow Garden proceeds towards another mission to infiltrate a cult facility in search of a relic, they discover it’s already gone. while this is going on, Cid, plans to rescue Reina for Rose, overhears Perv and Reina conspiring to kill Rose after the wedding. Assuming the role of Shadow, Cid exposes Reina’s betrayal and plots to fuel Rose’s rage, hoping to awaken her “tyrant bloodlust”. Later, as himself, Cid encourages Rose to decide her fate but accidentally leaves the ring behind he accidentally stole earlier, leading Rose to interpret it as a cryptic gift.

Later at the wedding, Rose publicly rejects Perv, but puts on the ring expecting powers, but is instead greeted by a video recording from her father, revealing the cult’s treasonous acts. The public rallies behind Rose as she calls for Perv’s arrest. However, both Perv and Reina are beheaded by Mordred, who possesses the missing relic. Mordred activates Black Rose, summoning Arch-demon Ragnarok to destroy Oriana. In a stunning moment, Cid appears as Shadow to confront Mordred…

Overall, this episode was insane, but in an entertaining way. From the comedy to the suspense to now Shadow flexing his powers. Now all that’s left is to deal with this 4th dimensional creature Mordred summoned, and possibly Mordred himself in what’s sure to be an epic finale next week!
