English Dub Review: Shy “Melee, Trembling Fingertips”

Overview:

The battle with Kufufu and Tzveta heats up as Shy and Spirit desperately try to get the civilians out of harm’s way. Kufufu’s unpredictable actions make her difficult to fight, and Tzveta’s ice powers and inescapable heart make her a formidable foe.

Our Take:

As we all figured, Tzveta is Spirit’s mom and I’m hoping the next episode gives an explanation of how that’s possible because she looks like a kid right now. If I had to guess it would be that something happened when she died or was killed and that led her down this path of being a villain. Finding out your mother is not only still alive but is also the villain that’s been kicking the shit out of you would be tough. Up until this point, Spirit has been a mostly carefree character but I think that is going to change after this.

Shy has been a fun hero series so far and the animation has been up to par when it needed to be. The story is a bit lacking but the enjoyable characters have made up for it so far and we will have to see if that continues to be the case.
