English Dub Review: Migi & Dali “Kill Kill Kill Kill Kill/Beavers vs Mother Ichijo”

December 25, 2023

Overview (Spoilers Below):

Kill Kill Kill Kill Kill

“Why did Eiji save me?” To find out the reason, Migi, in a disguise, visits Eiji’s house.

Beavers vs Mother Ichijo

Framed as murderers by Reiko, Migi and Dali find themselves unable to reveal themselves and decide to seek help from Akiyama.

Our Take:

Dali’s revenge plan came close to being a disaster, thanks to Migi’s unexpected victory at the Halloween costume contest. While Eiji is left unconscious by a falling pumpkin, Dali is too distressed to celebrate his “success” due to him almost killing Migi. From the looks of it, Dali could gradually realize that his brother is more important than revenge. But we won’t know for sure if he’ll change his ways until we get close to the finale.

With Dali now sitting on the sidelines, it’s Migi’s turn to investigate the mystery behind Eiji and his secretive family. However, Migi’s investigation is also about why Eiji saved his life from Dali’s pumpkin trap. This time, Migi takes on the Sali disguise, formally belonging to Dali, to find out what the heck’s going on with Eiji. He discovers that Eiji is trying to redeem himself from killing Metry by saving Solo’s life, but that’s not the shocking truth he unraveled.

Migi also finds out that Reiko isn’t really Eiji’s birth mother at all. Reiko is actually a barren woman whose psychotic personality rivals the twins. Reiko is also responsible for stealing Eiji’s younger “sister”, Karen, from her real family. Unfortunately, things take a much darker turn when Micchan rescues the twins, only to be killed by Reiko, forcing them to retreat from Origon Village.

These two episodes represent a climax that showcases the twins reuniting and realizing what’s worth fighting for, not just for revenge, but for everyone they befriend. It also features the revealed secrets that force specific characters to take drastic measures. Of course, that includes Reiko, whose own secret unveils her twisted obsession with perfection. Additionally, the events force Migi and Dali to reveal the truth about themselves to Akiyama and Maruta before they work together to rescue Eiji and Karen. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg regarding the hidden truths, as Reiko has another secret to reveal involving Metry. It’s too bad we won’t know it until next week. Until then, happy holidays, everyone!
