English Dub Review: Jujutsu Kaisen “Thunderclap, Part 2”

Overview:

After being severely injured in his fight against Toji, Fushiguro suffers a surprise attack from Shigemo. On the verge of death, Fushiguro desperately heads toward Dougenzaka crossing and summons a certain Shikigami with his Ten Shadows Technique.

Our Take:

I will admit that when it comes to some of the techniques the characters use I don’t understand them. I can tell by the way Fushiguro was talking that what he was doing was a big deal but it didn’t explain too well why the Shikigami he summoned was such a big deal other than the fact that it looked super evil and badass.

This episode was pretty emotional for me and I wish someone had warned me so I wouldn’t have watched it publicly. As we know Sukuna has been running amok like crazy in Shibuya and he’s been using Yuji’s body like a meat puppet. I didn’t even think that Yuji would get his body back anytime soon but I had a feeling that when he did it would be heartbreaking and boy was I right. Yuji came to and saw all the devastation that he essentially caused and broke down. How could he not? Yuji is one of the sweetest shonen protagonists this side of Deku and I don’t want to see bad things happen to him but due to the nature of the story I think that’s unavoidable.
