English Dub Review: Jujutsu Kaisen “Right and Wrong, Part 2”

Overview:

Itadori launches into a back-and-forth battle against Mahito, but he struggles against Mahito’s ploy of using average people against him. Meanwhile, Kugisaki encounters one of Mahito’s separated bodies as she returns to the battlefield.

Our Take(Spoilers):

There it is… the other shoe just dropped and I don’t know what to think about this series once again, Nobara was killed as well. Does the author just hate Yuji? It feels like I’m reading some Marvel runs of Spider-Man because if you know anything about those you would know it felt like every writer seemingly hates Peter Parker. Yuji might be one of the Shonen main characters I feel the most sorry for, he can’t catch a break. If Megumi dies he has no one, it’s starting to feel like a horror movie where at the end of it you ask yourself “Do these people even want to survive anymore?”.

One of the most heartbreaking parts of the episode was while Yuji was fighting Mahito he could feel Nobara using her cursed energy. He told himself that despite everything at least he knew he wasn’t alone, and not two minutes later she was dead. Not only that but then we spend at least half the episode learning more about two of the people she was closest to. It felt like this episode was meant to rip our hearts out and I can’t speak for everyone else but it succeeded in that for me.
