English Dub Review: Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End “Frieren the Slayer”

Overview:

As tensions in Graf Granat’s domain reach a breaking point, Fern and Stark find their own resolve – and Frieren resumes an old duty.

Our Take:

I also review Goblin Slayer so having another show with an episode title involving Slayer was a bit funny. Other than that I enjoyed this episode so much that you probably won’t be surprised with the score I give it. The episode opens with a bang, Draht thought he could take out Frieren easy but turns out that Frieren could also be called Tanjiro she’s such a good demon slayer (some will love that reference). I almost felt bad for Draht, once he lost both his arms he began to plead with Frieren, and like a true badass, she exploded his head before he could finish.

It wasn’t just Frieren who came in to save the day either, Stark and Fern put in the work as well. What I love about this series is the characters, there is so much heart behind all of them. I love how Fern has become Stark’s rock. I love that Stark is terrified of almost every fight he gets into but he still dives into the fire because he knows it’s the right thing to do and people are counting on him.

If you haven’t started watching this anime yet then you need to. It is one of the best, I loved the manga but got caught up in other things and stopped. This anime is so damn good that it got me to get back into that and I bought all that are out now. It’s a fantastic story with fantastic characters with fantastic animation. Did I use the word fantastic enough? No? Then give this fantastic anime a watch, you won’t regret it!
