English Dub Review: Shy “Conversation at the Dinner Table”

Overview:

Koishikawa takes Momijiyama out on the town in an attempt to thank her for everything she’s done for her. However, Momijiyama’s introverted nature and shut-in lifestyle make this difficult. The two of them are then unexpectedly summoned by Unilord.

Our Take:

I think Momijiyama needed a friend who knew she was a hero and Koishikawa is the perfect friend for it. She’s clearly a big nerd when it comes to heroes but she respects them enough to not have to worry about giving away your secret identity. I also like that she’s a hero in her own way when they discover a missing child at the mall. She didn’t skip a beat in helping the kid calm down and find his parents. I know this is a series about super heroes but seeing a normal person do her best to help people is always nice.

We are getting to the point in the series where I stopped reading the manga. Not because it was bad but I just had a lot going on and I have been meaning to get back into it. But I remember this being an interesting point in the story because Shy has to fight Stardust, one of the best hero’s in the world. Unilord wants to toughen Shy up by making her fight Stardust. If I recall Stardust is ultimately a good guy but this is going to be a tough episode to watch but it’s going to be good.
