Our Take

Continuing where season one left off, the romantic entanglements involving Naoya, Saki, Nagisa, and Mirika (and potentially Shino) remains as chaotic as ever as the summer break commences. However, before they can fully enjoy their break, Naoya, Saki, and Nagisa must first pass their exams. The challenge arises when they struggle to find a way to help Nagisa study, especially with Saki’s hidden intentions complicating matters. Despite Nagisa’s genuine desire to work hard, they seem to be running out of options until Shino reluctantly steps in, albeit with resentment towards Nagisa for inadvertently sparking the complicated dynamic between Saki and Naoya.

Reluctantly, Shino assists Nagisa with her exams, despite harboring animosity towards her for being the catalyst behind Saki and Naoya’s unconventional relationship. However, Nagisa manages to overcome the challenges of exam preparation with Shino’s help. With exams out of the way, Shino makes a request to stay with the trio to prevent any further romantic entanglements, but Naoya takes her request literally, granting her full access to his lodging house. Matters escalate when Mirika overhears their conversation and initiates a childish war, prompting Naoya to call Mirika’s younger sister, Risa, for assistance.

Overall, Season 2 sets the stage for even more absurd, borderline risqué, and light-hearted shenanigans as Naoya navigates his complicated relationships, now including Shino in the mix. Shino emerges as a significant presence in the season, while the other characters remain relatively unchanged. The introduction of Mirika’s sister, Risa, adds a fun dynamic to the mix, showcasing her surprising emotional maturity compared to Mirika. Despite its cringe-worthy moments, the series maintains its intrigue, leaving viewers curious about what will unfold in the next episode.
