English Dub Review: The Devil is a Part-Timer! “The Devil Loses His Standing”
Overview:
Are we about to finally learn the landlady’s secret?! Also, Ashiya takes control of the Malebranche while Maou struggles with his magic and Emi struggles with the stress of her position.
Our Take:
I haven’t quite figured out what’s going on with Maou but the relationships in the series are what really get me excited. Say what you will about Chi and Maou but I love Emi and Maou way more. This episode showed that she is having a lot of conflicting feelings about the battles she’s fighting because she’s learned that Maou wasn’t quite the villain he might have been portrayed as. I hope that there is a future for those two especially because the family dynamic between Maou, Emi, and Alas is adorable.
Ashiya is seemingly about to lead a rebel force AGAINST Emi which would be horrible and no we haven’t learned the landlady’s secret yet. I would love to because her and her niece are really interesting. I have a feeling there is something explosive in store for the season finale of this because things keep inching towards something. It’s like when you follow the lit fuse and realize it leads to a powder keg.
Do we know if Hulu will be the only entity to have the dub, or if it will be on other platforms, too? The show in general is definitely going to be on multiple platforms.
