English Dub Review: Liar, Liar “Together with You”

The finals of the ASTRAL competition.
Our Take:
It’s a three-way battle in the finals: Shinohara vs. Saionji vs. Shiina. Although, the game feels more like an afterthought. It does play a part in this episode, but the main point is taking down Kurahashi. The way the game finishes feels underwhelming after the main objective is reached.
This is a case of the buildup being more interesting than the payoff. The idea of this final showdown between the empress, the seven star and the doppelgänger is a lot better than the showdown itself. Saoinji is present, but she may as well not be. I feel like Shinohara could figure everything out himself this time.
Defeating Kurahashi would feel so much more satisfying if he wasn’t a lame antagonist. He’s just very forgettable and I don’t feel like he actually poses much of a threat. I’m not a fan of Shiina either. This take on the chuunibyou trope just isn’t doing it for me. Overall, it’s a very disappointing finale. It’s a shame too because this show started out strong, but it ends on a mediocre note.
Do we know if Hulu will be the only entity to have the dub, or if it will be on other platforms, too? The show in general is definitely going to be on multiple platforms.
