WB Discovery: Rick and Morty Season Seven Premiere ; Justice League X RWBY: Part Two Announced For Release; LOTR Movie Delayed

Adult Swim announced today that new episodes of “Rick and Morty,” the hit adult animated series that follows a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe, will premiere around the world and across the multiverse starting on Sunday, Oct. 15 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on Adult Swim.

A global phenomenon, the seventh season of “Rick and Morty” will debut in over 134 countries in 38 languages.  In the U.S., new episodes will be available for purchase from digital retailers the day after they premiere on Adult Swim. The new season will also be available to stream in 2024.

“Rick and Morty” was the #1 comedy across all of cable during seasons three, four, five and six, and has become a multi-platform sensation not just on television, but across digital, gaming, livestreaming, retail, and fan experiences. The series reached over 19M viewers on linear broadcast in 2022 and remains a top series on Max. “Rick and Morty” has garnered two Emmys for “Outstanding Animated Program” and is currently nominated for a third.

Rick and Morty are back and sounding more like themselves than ever! It’s season seven, and the possibilities are endless: what’s up with Jerry? EVIL Summer?! The Justice League and Team RWBY take on their biggest adventure yet in Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes & Huntsmen, Part Two available to purchase Digitally on October 17, 2023 and on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray October 31, 2023.

Following Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes & Huntsmen, Part One, the new animated film from Rooster Teeth Animation, DC and Warner Bros. Animation, will see the Justice League and Team RWBY team up again in a whole new environment to take on Grimm, who has arrived on earth with even more powers.

Returning from Part One are Ozioma Akagha (Teen Titans Go!) as Vixen, Jeannie Tirado (Soul, Saints Row) as Green Lantern and Tru Valentino (The Rookie, The Cuphead Show!) as Cyborg alongside RWBY mainstays Lindsay Jones ​​(Camp Camp) as Ruby, Kara Eberle​(​​RWBY: Ice Queendom​​)​as Weiss, Arryn Zech ​(The Detective is Already Dead) as Blake, and Barbara Dunkelman (Blood Fest) as Yang.​​ The film also features the voices of Maxwell Friedman (AEW Dynamite, The Iron Claw), Christopher Sabat (Dragon Ball Z) and J. Michael Tatum (My Hero Academia).

The film was co-directed by Yssa Badiola (Camp Camp) and Dustin Matthews (RWBY franchise) from a script penned by Meghan Fitzmartin (Supernatural, Justice Society: World War II). Producers are Kimberly S. Moreau (Legion of Super Heroes), Ethan Spaulding (Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge) and Jim Krieg (Batman: Gotham by Gaslight) with Laura Yates​(​​Boyhood, RWBY, Red vs. Blue​​) as supervising producer; and Sam Register and Michael Uslan executive producing.

Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes & Huntsmen, Part Two be available October 17 to purchase Digitally from Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, Vudu and more.  4K Ultra HD and Blu-Ray Discs will be available on October 31 to purchase online and in-store at major retailers.

SYNOPSIS

On the heels of successfully escaping a deadly digital trap, the members of the Justice League emerge in their own world to discover that Grimm, ravenous creatures from Remnant, have overtaken Earth! In order to defeat the monsters, they must call on their new friends – Team RWBY – for help!

Deadline is reporting that the new The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim will move from its original April 12th, 2024 release date to that of December 13th, 2024 release date as a result of the SAG-AFTRA strike.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim is an upcoming animated fantasy film directed by Kenji Kamiyama from a screenplay by Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou, based on the book trilogy The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien. It is produced by New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Animation with animation production by Sola Entertainment. A prequel set 183 years before the events depicted in the 2002 film The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, it stars Brian Cox as Helm Hammerhand, a legendary King of Rohan. Also starring is Miranda Otto, reprising her role as Éowyn from the live-action The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
