English Dub Review: Bungo Stray Dogs “At the Port in the Sky (Part 1)”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
The Detective Agency races to stop Fukuchi from receiving the One Order, a devastating mind-control weapon that will make his plans for world domination unstoppable.

Our Take:
It’s bad enough that we’re dealing with Fukuchi and his time-traveling sword, Amenogozen, but his army of vampires? That’s a new level of trouble, but that’s not all. The former Hunting Dog leader plans to start a war between other nations, with the only weapon capable of commencing this heinous action. The weapon mentioned is the One Order, which gives its user the ability to control the minds of every soldier. He’s already invincible with his katana and vampires, so why not add mind control to the mix?
Fortunately, not all is lost, as the Agency members are reunited inside the novel dimension, including Atsushi, Fukuzawa, and Ranpo. Afterward, they discuss what they’re up against, including Fukuchi’s plan to dominate the world with the One Order. The Agency knows that they can’t beat Fukuchi, but they can expose his criminal ways without laying a finger on him. Their plan involves annihilating the crucial part of Fukuchi’s formulaic plot: Bram Stoker.
During that time, another Hunting Dog member knows Fukuchi’s true intentions, Saigiku Jono, whose ability allows him to disintegrate his body into atoms. Of course, he already had doubts about his leader when reading Tachihara’s heartbeat pattern in the previous episode. Unfortunately, Jono also became the latest victim of Stoker’s vampiric ability, as he was bitten by Akutagawa while confronting Fukuchi. Luckily, he’s able to gain help from a young girl named Aya beforehand. As a result, Aya managed to get a picture of Fukuchi’s evil ways before making her thrilling escape.
It doesn’t make sense to me that the title refers to the episode as “Part 1” since the previous episodes have cliffhanger endings. But what do I know? I’m not the one responsible for naming the titles. I only review what’s shown to me, and what I’ve seen so far is both intense and frustrating, with the latter due to Fukuchi being a back-stabbing, cheating asshole with his time-traveling katana. From the looks of the upcoming episodes, it seems that we’ll be getting a three-parter involving the One Order inside an airport within the Agency’s nearly impossible battle against Fukuchi.
