Our Take

Ah yes, in what could be the final run of HouseBroken on FOX, we get the first set of the final six episodes slated to premiere on the network and, I gotta tell ya, these episodes are still more than a solid replacement for what are typically Sunday reruns. This week, we get two episodes that have a bunch of fun in temporarily expanding the cast with Fred Armisen (“Oliver”) and Natasha Lyonne (“DJ”) as members of Honey’s family, and then another episode where we get to see ghosts of dead pets that are more-or-less the same as the current roster of pets, just a lot DEADER.

Both episodes were not only hilarious, but also featured love stories, with my personal favorite being Raccoon trying to woo a Koala Bear and The Gray One’s addiction to eating poop. In fact, I thought “Who’s This Birthday Girl?” featured a lot of Family Guy in its pathos. From close ups of everyone’s diseased face, to Honey messing with the FOX bugs, and even a few cutaways, fans looking for some sort of semblance of FOX’s Sunday night mainstay may be happy to stick around for this one.
