English Dub Review: The Duke of Death and His Maid “The Duke, Alice, and the Magic Pool”

Overview:

On a cold winter’s day, Cuff arrives at the mansion with a magic item that can summon a swimming pool from out of nowhere.

Our Take:

This was another one of those series that I knew there was going to be a second season but it snuck up on me. This is kind of crazy because the first season aired back in 2021 and here I was thinking it was just yesterday but I am really glad that it’s back because this was one of the better anime couples I’ve had the pleasure of seeing.

One of the main reasons for this is the lack of fan service. Now don’t get me wrong there is a BUNCH of fan service, one of the premises is just how much Alice likes to tease the Duke. But what gets me is how wholesome this couple really is. They can’t touch because of the Duke’s curse so that leads to them finding a few unique ways to bond.

In this episode in particular it came in the form of the Duke getting to see some of his greatest dreams because of a magic item. One of his dreams involved Alice and I was expecting a fan service scene but instead, it was Alice in a wedding dress. I’m really glad this one is back and I look forward to more wholesome romance moments.
