English Dub Review: Oshi no Ko “B Komachi”

Overview:

MEM-cho won’t let her second chance go to waste and uses her influence to help grow B Komachi’s brand. Meanwhile, Aqua’s investigation into Ai’s past bears fruit.

Our Take:

Don’t get me wrong, the story and subject matter of this series are fantastic and unique. But what really sets this series apart is the characters. I can’t really think of a single character I don’t enjoy in Oshi no Ko, but there is the best character for sure. That would have to be Kana Arima, her crush on Aqua is adorable and I’m rooting for her. But to be fair she doesn’t really have a reason to be mad at Aqua. She knows he’s not a womanizer and she never made her feelings known either, though I don’t think that would matter because I don’t think Aqua actually cares about romance but he knows this will further his goal.

Kana has very little self-confidence but as we learn in this episode, she should be the center of the revived B Komachi. She brings star power and is an excellent singer, as we all learned when it was discovered that she released some songs that Ruby and MEM-cho didn’t know about. The last scene showing how well Kana scored at karaoke was a nice touch. I just want to see more of the new B Komachi.
