English Dub Review: Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury “May All Blessings Find Their Way to You, I’m Wishing It”

The Quiet Zero has been stopped but it’s not over yet. Suletta and Miorine put everything on the line to fight for a future where they and all those they love can be happy.

Our Take(Spoilers):

This will take some decompression to fully understand I think but this was a really good Gundam series. I don’t quite understand it all yet but it was definitely… something. If I’m being honest I think the first half of the series was a lot stronger than the second. The fight scenes were better and something about the school setting was really different for a Gundam series.

If you’re a Yuri fan then you got your ending! Only it felt a bit hollow, sure Suletta and Miorine got married in the end but they never really showed too much romantic affection towards each other. They definitely cared for each other there’s no denying that but it would have just been nice to see a kiss or something. I’ve only watched a handful of Yuri show’s so perhaps I was wanting too much.

The animation and voice acting kept up and stayed great throughout. There was just something about the early battles that really popped and looked fantastic. I think that perhaps the low stakes of the battles also let me just have fun and enjoy them. There were stakes sure, but until later death wasn’t actually on the line. I have a lot to think about when it comes to how I view this series. I’m a huge Gundam fan but this was kind of a different take for the series. We’ll see how it stacks up soon.
