Our Take

“Breeding Frenzy” is a real thing. Search up “animal cross breeds that are insane” on Tiktok there’s a whole bunch of crazy cross-bred shit all over the place so Beavis and Butt-Head aren’t far off from their latest hair-brained scheme to get rich. The whole episode is hilarious, most notably the climax, and let’s put a pin on the cutaway video gag for a second.

Tom Anderson episodes are a rarity, so just the fact that we got a good one to coincide with Memorial Day/Independence Day season featuring American veterans attempting to keep open an institution that has a dwindling member base and then somehow involving middle-aged Beavis and Butt-Head was awesome. The entire dialogue coming from writer Adrian McNair was hilarious in one of the better-written episodes of the second season.

Finally, while the Ava Max bit was only sort of funny, by far maybe the funniest cutaway of the season thus far was the “chia pet” one. Holy hell was I going bananas during Butt-Head’s commentary which was both poignant and on brand.  A hilarious week, not perfect, but a pretty great outing.
