Netflix: Tomb Raider Anime Renewed For Second Season

Netflix and Legendary Entertainment announced an anime-style series adaptation based on the franchise that is slated to premiere sometime in 2023, with Tasha Huo as the showrunner and executive producer. The series will primarily take place after the events of its video game reboot trilogy. Hayley Atwell will voice Lara Croft in the anime series. Earl Baylon who voiced Jonah Maiva from the Shadow of the Tomb Raider reprises his role. Allen Maldonado voices Lara’s tech expert, Zip. For the show’s second season, Ncuti Gatwa will star as Eshu, a character made exclusively for the anime series.

In the meantime, we’ll get to see the fruits of Netflix and Legendary’s animation collaboration on June 22nd as the streamer drops the first season of Skull Island. That said, Netflix has shown a real clear affinity in producing adult animation inspired by video games with series adaptations on the way inspired by Far Cry, Devil May Cry, and others to go along with the success of series like Arcane and Castlevania.
