Mortal Kombat Legends: “Cage Match” Voice Cast and Plot Details Revealed

From Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment, and based on the infamous and iconic video game franchise created by Ed Boon & John Tobias, the full-length animated film’s crew includes director Ethan Spaulding and supervising producer Rick Morales. Jeremy Adams, who wrote the previous three films, Scorpions Revenge, Battle of the Realms, and Snowblind is back as the screenwriter. Executive producers are Sam Register and NetherRealm Studios’ Ed Boon.

Taken from an IGN article, Joel McHale returns as the voice of Johnny Cage, while Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey voices herself in the feature-length animated film. The cast also includes the late Gilbert Gottfried.

According to the official plot synopsis, Mortal Kombat Legends: Cage Match is a period piece set in both Hollywood and the Netherrealm. Here’s the plot is as follows…

“Neon lights… Suits with shoulder pads… Jumping from explosions in slow motion… In 1980s Hollywood, action star Johnny Cage (Joel McHale) is looking to become an A-list actor. But when his costar, Jennifer (Jennifer Grey), goes missing from the set, Johnny finds himself thrust into a world filled with shadows, danger, and deceit. As he embarks on a bloody journey, Johnny quickly discovers the City of Angels has more than a few devils in its midst. He faces off against a sinister secret society plotting a nefarious scheme, but the brutal fight against the bloodthirsty warriors of the Netherrealm is just beginning. Can Johnny, alongside other Kombat legends, save humanity…and, more importantly, his career?”
