English Dub Review: The Legendary Hero is Dead! “The Raid of the Legendary Hero”; “The Legendary Hero Fights to the Death!”

Overview:

The legendary hero’s party finally reaches Elvania, while the king makes his own plans to stop the necromancers’ plot.

It’s all coming down to the big climactic battle. Can Touka defeat Diego and save Yuna before time runs out?!

Our Take:

Last week we didn’t get any episodes so this week they gave us two episodes for the price of one. I think Crunchyroll is trying to knock out the spring anime as fast as possible to get ready for the summer ones coming up soon.

I feel like any time Ian Sinclair is in an anime I review I end up gushing about how much I love him. He does the voice of Diego and in these two episodes, he really shines. Of course, we all know that Ian can do the silly voices perfectly. But when he gets angry and upset he doesn’t skip a beat. He’s such a talented voice actor and brings a smile to my face whenever I get to hear a character he voices.

Touka is in the thick of it and it looks like time might be running out for him and Yuna. But luckily, some backup arrives just in time.

When I first started reviewing this series I thought I was going to absolutely hate it. But most of the main cast got some growth and it was funny but also serious when it needed to be. A lot of the story beats have been pretty cliche but I’ve enjoyed it. I hope the last episode can nail the landing but I imagine I will have to move to the source material if I want to continue on.
